About Us

The Albany is one of London's longest-running comedy venues, having hosted alternative events and standup since the '80s. The 85-capacity venue is the birthplace of Robin Ince's Book Club, fringe favourite Spank!, and hosted Bob Monkhouse's Last Stand for BBC4. These days, as ever, it is the home of nights run by individuals and companies at the spearhead of experimental comedy and cabaret. There are shows booked and hosted by cult acts such as Edinburgh Awards' Best Show nominee Jordan Brookes, head of the Weirdos collective Adam Larter, and LGBT+ powerhouse the LOL Word. And then, for two weeks each September, the venue also houses Objectively Funny Festival.
